I just wanted to update you guys on my dealings with Charter because I think it’s really interesting. Does anyone want to know how Charter cost me over $1,000? I bet you do.
So, let’s see, where did I leave off? I told you about how I called twice and they promised to send someone out. Well, they never did. Finally on Sunday I called them. I got ahold of someone who transferred me to another department. The guy in that department didn’t speak English very well so I asked him to send me to someone else. He told me I’d have to call back, which I did.
I went to the same place and was transferred to that same department. I tried to explain my situation to the lady there who had no clue, and transferred me to another department. Then I spoke to a guy there who transferred me again after he figured out what I was trying to say. At this point I was disconnected.
I called back again and was transferred again. For some reason they have no direct number for the department I needed to talk to. So I told this lady what was going on and she decided to read what was written about my account the first times I called. She came back after about 10 minutes and told me she was still reading, but that she’d be back. 20 minutes on hold and the line gave me a busy signal.
So I called back. I was transferred. I found someone who had a clue and told them I just want them to take their shit back. I’m done. She gave me all the credits ($200 worth) and cancelled the internet. So I took the wireless adapter they sent for my son’s computer and I hooked it into my DSL wireless. FLAWLESS. Everything worked perfectly. It was so amazing. So I was thinking about keeping that adapter ($50) and sending back the other stuff. I decided, first, to look online and see what I could get one for. I found one at Circuit City that was better and cost $10 less, so I went out and bought it and returned all that crap to Charter.
So, how did this cost me money? Well, I went back to my work computer and secure websites (like my Modernbill) wouldn’t load. What? Well.. I had a virus and some spyware that wasn’t there before the cable. I don’t know what the difference was, but when I had the cable it messed me up. So I went out and got a new computer (it’s that time) and I’m working on transferring everything over. It’s a really nice copmuter, though. But I have to agree with the rest of the world, despite it’s beauty, VISTA SUCKS. There, I said it. Did you even read this far?
